When you do open up an exported file in another DAW the tracks all separate OK obviously but you have to re assign the tracks out to the respective midi channels. (Except the three tracks are still kept separated somehow) So even though in Studio One you may have midi channels set eg channels 8, 9 and 10 those channel numbers are not exported for some reason. I also have Sonar here too and when I open that type 0 file up in Sonar it separates them all out onto the three tracks OK except they are all on channel 1 though. (and played some data in them of course) Now when you select all of those tracks at once and export to a midi file it does that fine and creates a single type 0 file. I just did a test and created three midi tracks and I assigned them to channels 8, 9 and 10. It may not be able to do what you want directly the way Cubase does perhaps. But there is something unusual going on here though. Studio One can export multiple midi tracks (type 1 files) and create a type 0 file as well.

In Cubase i just export midi file to floppy disc and it sounds same like in project, and i can load that file from floppy disc to my keyboard and reproduce it without losing any CC midi messages and all tracks ends up on selected channels in DAW (1-16). I want midi to play on external devices exactly like in DAW, after exporting. I mean if i chose bass guitar sound to play on channel 9, with main volume 90 and Reverb 40 in DAW, stays in channel 9 with that CC messages after exporting. I need to export midi file in multiple channels after export without losing channel information and CC midi messages (Bank select, program changes, main volume, pan, reverb etc.) On the other side in DAW, tracks play different sound on different channels depends which instrument i chose with CC MIDI messages like Bank select program changes etc. When i export with that methods all my selected tracks ends up on channel 1 and play piano sound on my keyboard or midi player (VanBasco). I know for that method and several others, but that do same thing.
